How can I go fishing in the ocean with a private boat?

I was thinking of buying a boat. Are there any special procedures and licenses that I need to fish the sea? Where should I start the boat and what are the average costs (bait, gas) for the fishery in Southern California to go. I’m not much of a fisherman, so I am quite ignorant on this subject. All answers appreciated.

I’m not from Cali and did not know me w / their features, etc. when it comes to licenses. But here in Florida you need to have registered your boat, a current license for the type of fishing that you will do (saltwater), you may need a boat operating license in Cali. im not sure. You need extenguisher ect all your safety equiptment (personal flotation device, fire. Go) As far as boat ramps, I would try to find a bait and tackle shop in the area you want to fish, and ask them to consult for ramp locations, and fisheries. As for the cost of gas and bait, it all depends on what kind of fish you will do. You can live or artificial bait must be able to use 20 liters of fuel per trip, or press 2 to use May. I would also suggest to go in search of a buddy boat w / a few times for the safety and orientation.

Brandon has a great Antwort.Ich just want to add them to BW’s answer: You can use your boat & fishing “learning curve” in a sheltered bay, or fresh water instead of the ocean starten.Da they have no experience as a boater and venture into an offshore situation continues to Ärger.Kein book or a website you can learn everything you want / need it wissen.Zumindest to learn how to handle your boat close to shore / nearshore, quiet Wasser.Hope this helps something? Good luck!
